چکیده

There are tow hierarchically organized of clonal populations are: genetic individuals (genets) can consist of many physiological individuals (ramets). Each ramet takes up resources from its local environment, but the resource pattern can be reorganized within the clone by transport between ramets. According to obsearvation measurement and surveillance of clones and their ramets of caespitose grass Stipa baicalensis population,we used architectural to development and morphological observation ,resource translocation ,and competition coefficients to study caespitose clonal structure, reproductive function, and vegetative function ages of the clones, types of ramets, ramet competition for resources within clones in 1999-2002.We also discussed clonal longevity of Stipa baicalensis, ramet recruitment and morality in Stipa baicalensis clones. Patch structure dynamics and mechanisms of cyclical succession in a Patagonian steppe (Argentina)

The plant community in the Patagonian steppe is arranged in two structural patch types: scattered grasses and shrubs, which are often surrounded by a ring of grasses. Previous studies suggested that this pattern results from a cyclical succession driven by plant interactions. Although there is a good understanding of the factors affecting the formation of the grass rings encircling the shrubs, ...

Competition and soil resource environment alter plant–soil feedbacks for native and exotic grasses

Feedbacks between plants and soil biota are increasingly identified as key determinants of species abundance patterns within plant communities. However, our understanding of how plant-soil feedbacks (PSFs) may contribute to invasions is limited by our understanding of how feedbacks may shift in the light of other ecological processes. Here we assess how the strength of PSFs may shift as soil mi...

Interactive effects of elevated CO2 and precipitation change on leaf nitrogen of dominant Stipa L. species

Nitrogen (N) serves as an important mineral element affecting plant productivity and nutritional quality. However, few studies have addressed the interactive effects of elevated CO2 and precipitation change on leaf N of dominant grassland genera such as Stipa L. This has restricted our understanding of the responses of grassland to climate change. We simulated the interactive effects of elevate...

Sensitive Indicators of Zonal Stipa Species to Changing Temperature and Precipitation in Inner Mongolia Grassland, China

Climate change often induces shifts in plant functional traits. However, knowledge related to sensitivity of different functional traits and sensitive indicator representing plant growth under hydrothermal change remains unclear. Inner Mongolia grassland is predicted to be one of the terrestrial ecosystems which are most vulnerable to climate change. In this study, we analyzed the response of f...

Species Richness, Evenness and Plant Community Stability 22 Years after Ploughing a Semiarid Rangeland

Rangeland ploughing and cultivation using dry land farming crops may be amajor reason for the destruction of natural resources in the semiarid and sub-humid regionswhich may significantly change the composition and reduce the stability of the affectedcommunities. In present research, an abandoned ploughed site was compared with a nearbyreference site in the semiarid rangelands of Baharkish, Quc...
